upon considering all the wasted time
spent sordidly hiding in the corners of my mind
I find myself wondering why to myself, I've been so unkind
short-sightedly squandering what could've been so sublime
all the while
senses slip
feels as if I'm
losing grip
back and forth
pleasant and uneasy
so henceforth
'think I'll take it easy
one day I'll be brain-dead but for now I feel wide awake
maybe I'll grow old and never realize what's at stake
you only get one go at it, despite what some may have you think
so why not do what you want? It'll be over in a blink.
